weekend home style

I found this home awhile back on Design*Sponge. I was drawn to it because it shows how you can have a cozy and inviting home even in a teeny tiny space. For someone who mainly lives in a city, working with and in tiny places can be a challenge, but this home illustrates some great ideas for how to make it work.

oh, the entrance hall kitchen.  I used to have one of these in college and it really wasn't as bad as it seems.  I actually found it quite funny- is it a hallway or a kitchen?  Hallway... kitchen... hallway... kitchen... anyway, I like the light strip they installed, very useful, and the shelves for bottles so that you don't have to use counter space.

the comfy chair- a necessity, and the macbook pro :)

excellent use of an awkward recessed area for clothing, I'm all about curtains for hiding things.

the shelving in this bedroom is what makes the small space work.  The big bed fits perfectly, no compromise made, and is plenty of shelf space on either side for storage.  I also love, love, love the ceiling shelves.  Not sure how I could ever reach it, but very cool.

it also looks like there are cabinets under the long shelves, and backlighting from inside.  This is a great alternative to overhead abrasive lighting.

yay, more ceiling shelves, and a nice corner vanity/desk area.  I know I already said this, but the backlighting in the cabinets is genius.

You mean there's a kitchen when you enter the flat? Man that's weird! If you really want space, live outdoors like us gorillas!
