van gogh

I can't help but slip back into my art history days every now and then.  There were certain subjects in the hodge podge of courses I took that made even the most pretentious art history students bearable.  Looking back, I think it was not just the courses themselves, but also the teachers, who seemed to possess an all-seeing, BS-detector, shutting down overcomplicated and unsupported conclusions by pretentious students wherever they went.

One such professor, Dr. Werth, opened up the era of modern art from 1870-1912 in a new and exciting way, bringing these 'masters' back to earth.  They were, after all, human.

If you need an example, look at some of Van Gogh's lesser known works...

I won't comment on them.  For me, they need no comment, just a long, hard, pleasurable look.
